Description
In Trinidad and Tobago, Boxing Day is an opportunity for families and friends to continue celebrations from Christmas Day. There are gatherings in communities and among families that include the sharing of meals and refreshments, relaxing and reminiscing. In addition, groups enjoy outdoor activities at beaches and rivers and host sporting events.
Brief History
Boxing Day originated from the British where the custom of giving gifts or “boxes” (money or food) to servants, tradespeople, or the needy on the day after Christmas. Trinidad and Tobago adopted the holiday as a former British colony.

Boxing Day is observed on December 26th annually. There are several sales throughout the island.
